Twenty Years Finding Purpose
For over twenty years, I carried operational leadership across chiropractic, holistic health, and food and beverage industries. I was unfulfilled and to be quite honest, I was tired. I am a single mother and time was escaping me as my daughter was growing up too quickly. I started asking myself “am I in the right place? Does this job give me a sense of purpose?” As I started exploring my options, I found my way into the CPR industry, and everything changed.
I remember teaching my first class nervous and unsure of my career change, quietly thinking to myself “what am I doing?” In that moment, I noticed a shift in one of my students as she demonstrated the skills portion of the course. She understood the weight of what she was learning and I realized the immense responsibility of what I was teaching. This was my answer. Teaching people to save lives was where I was supposed to be. It was personal. It was intentional. And it was just the beginning.
Over time, I built credentials across multiple major certifying organizations, earned Primary Licensed Training Provider status through the American Red Cross, and became an instructor trainer. My clients range from healthcare systems and large corporations to foster families and individuals who simply want to be prepared. The work looks different every day. The standard doesn’t.
But the more I learned, the more I saw an industry failing the people inside it. Instructors were being certified and abandoned. They were handed a card and sent out the door with no support, no structure, no one to call when things got hard or confusing. Organizations were managing compliance on their own, building programs on shaky ground. The infrastructure that should have been there simply wasn’t. I couldn’t look away from that.
GreyKardia is a CPR training company built on the belief that this work deserves to be done better, with more rigor, more support, and more genuine investment in the people giving and receiving it. Alongside GreyKardia, I founded In The Grey LLC, an operations consulting firm working exclusively within the CPR industry, helping create successful businesses for new instructors and established CPR companies. I am currently developing a platform I believe will change how the industry functions at scale; offering support, and resources in a way that has never existed before.
I am building an entire ecosystem designed to make CPR training more accessible, more supported, and more sustainable for everyone in it. I am doing it because I know firsthand what it costs when this industry gets it wrong. I am proud of what I have built and GreyKardia is part of something so much bigger.

HSI Certified Instructor
Authorized to deliver Health and Safety Institute certifications across CPR, First Aid, AED, BLS, and specialty courses to individuals and organizations.
Red Cross Licensed Training Provider (LTP)
The highest level of Red Cross provider authorization available. GreyKardia delivers Red Cross certifications at the highest standard of instruction recognized by the organization.
ProTrainings Certified Instructor
Authorized to deliver ProTrainings certifications in flexible in-person, blended, and online formats across CPR, First Aid, AED, BLS, and compliance courses.
American Heart Association Instructor
Authorized to deliver AHA Heartsaver, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, the gold standard credential required by name at the majority of US hospitals and health systems.
Instructor Trainer Designation
Carli holds the Instructor Trainer designation, a credential that allows her to certify other CPR instructors, not just students. This is a significant depth of expertise that very few local providers hold.
Wilderness First Aid Instructor
